ABOUT ETHNOS

 

Even though it would sound as a topic, this is the story of a dream come true. I’ve always liked, (more than that! Loved, have a crush on it, been crazy about), ethnic jewerly, and the simple idea of having my own shop would appear to be like an ideal / perfect situation.

 

If we add to this, the fact of my passion for travelling, certain skills for handicrafts and making my own creations from original pieces, and the wish to share it, the great combination was served.

 

In 2008, while visiting Turkey and its bazaars, that “idea” found a way to become a serious, firm and amazing project. I bought many pieces, not only for me! Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and also medallions and pendants, which I was already there thinking how to customize.

 

And done! In a few months I was opening my first shop in Sitges (coast village next to Barcelona).

 

Apart from Turkey, India became a natural provider, and then after assembling pieces, on those beginnings most of all with colourful leathers. Testing, testing, accumulating experience, going over Barcelona’s streets looking for the best fasteners, clasps, velvets, wools or appropriate cottons.

 

I keep on going in that sense, making more and more test and searching the best providers and resources; the final product yes has changed; let’s say, evolved, improved. Making season collections, adding colour in summer jewels, as well as seeds or seashells, even – last & new! – African pieces of glass, or the macramé finishing touches on necklaces and bracelets.
